Smoky Bean Coffee Roasters was founded by Joe Foster in Baton Rouge, LA in April 2024. Prior to founding Smoky Bean, Joe worked as a barista and roaster for a nearby coffeeshop and always had a passion for high-quality, sustainably sourced coffee.

Smoky Bean is committed to using sustainably sourced coffee from local farmers. We take great care to ensure only the highest grade beans reach your cup. Smoky Bean only roasts in small batches (no more than 2lbs) - meaning we can meticulously oversee and control the quality of every coffee bag that leaves our facility.

In December 2024, we opened our new roasting facility in tandem with our café partner, House Brew, in downtown Baton Rouge at 227 Florida Blvd.
